Nobel in Chopin
(...) A subtle interpretation of the Chopin's First Piano Concerto by the Polish young pianist Rafał Blechacz (1985) was the culminating point of the Matinee. The introvert Blechacz, winner of the Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition Warsaw 2005, continued a sophisticated way of playing Chopin practiced by his compatriot Krystian Zimerman. It is very rare to play Chopin in such a poetic and elegant, dreamy and melancholy manner. It is a pity that Blechacz could not perform Schumann's Piano Concerto in A Minor (...)
